18K GOLD VERMEIL
Gold Vermeil, pronounced ‘ver-may’, is a 19th century technique where gold is applied onto a sterling silver base. Unlike standard gold plating, gold vermeil requires a thicker layer of gold, with a minimum of 2.5 microns. At Tilla, we exclusively use 18K gold in our gold vermeil jewellery, ensuring the highest percentage of gold alloy. Our dedication to quality ensures our customers can enjoy and love their pieces longer.
WHITE GOLD
By blending pure gold with palladium, nickel and other white metals, our white gold exudes a lustrous and enduring charm. Jewellery Care
All of the jewellery we source is made to high quality standards; however, some care still needs to be taken to ensure your jewellery stays in good condition.
What to avoid
- Avoid contact with moisture/liquids, including water, lotion, sunscreen and perfume. Jewellery should never be worn in the shower, pool or the ocean.
- Do not spray perfume directly onto or around jewellery.
- Avoid impact with hard surfaces, as this may lead to chipping or scratches.
- Moisture and humidity can cause oxidisation and tarnishing, so avoid storing your jewellery in the bathroom and ensure to keep your jewellery away from sources of heat.
Cleaning
- Gently polish your items to bring back a shine and remove any tarnish.
- Be sure to not over polish plated jewellery as this may remove parts of the plating.
